Story behind the creation.
I wanted to portray a woman submerged in water and where her words is left
unspoken. All of the works exhibited at my exhibition in Tisvilde revolves around the
theme ‘Secrets’.
The piece is a visual exploration of hidden emotions and silent thoughts – with a
touch of Walt Disney’s quirky universe..
Working with water as an element feels very natural to me. I’ve always been drawn
to the sea (as many of my pictures may reveal). I grew up on the west coast of
Denmark, and as me and my siblings were children of parents who taught
swimming, the scent of chlorine was also a familiar presence in my home, and we
all became competitive swimmers. So I’ve always felt as though an eternal tide runs
through my veins, now intertwined with saltwater. I try to embrace the sea a couple
of times a week, sometimes just for a cold dip, but when the energy is there,
I windsurf too.
