This piece is from my small exclusive edition of
Giclée prints* of the Girasol serie.
Its made on 100% cotton, watercolor paper and the edition is signed and numbered
to a maximum of 72 pieces in two colors and in two sizes. Size A2 and size 70x100.
Additionally I have her in the size 30x40, but as a fine-art print and this edition is
signed and numbered to a maximum of 200 pieces.
The original piece is a sewn paper and fabric collage and it was part of an exhibition
in Madrid, Spain at “MONAT Gallery” in May 2025. It was later exhibited in Austin, Texas and sold there.
Story behind the creation:
This is a collage I created, inspired by my boyfriend. It holds hidden references to
conversations and inside jokes we’ve shared. Every element in the image, in one
way or another, reflects pieces of our story together or just my unique perspective of
him. The title “Girasol” is because of the many sunflowers in the piece and because
Sunflower in spanish means Girasol. I lived some years in spain, so the title made
sense for me. The face is inspired by the woman sitting next to me in my creative
workshop - fashion designer, Sophie Lee.
