Photo transfer of recycled card paper and old antique maps of Copenhagen on to textile. I sewed it like a collage as freemotion machine embroidery. In the process I've re-sewn all lines from the old streets. The rest is quilted.
The title of this piece runs through as letters in the work, and its the opening words of HC. Andersen's story upon Holger Danske.
The oakwood frame is hand built and the textile work is sewn and fixed on matted and behind UV protected glass.
