- Inspired by Egon Schiele and his painting "Standing Woman"
I made "Shine on Schiele" as part of the exhibition "working with Schiele" back in 2017. This piece was inspired by the paintings by Egon Schiele and his inspiration of the works made by Gustav Klimt - or as he had put it him self - "non" inspiration of Klimt. Therefore I made most of my sewn collage in this serie as a tribute to Schiele figurative portrats, but using lots of gold and in this piece silver chocolate wrappers one can easily get a "Klimt" kinda feeling about the piece.
The original piece is made as a sewn paper collage with black threads between two glass sheets, so the piece is party transparent. Size 41x82 cm. This piece is sold.
