Story behind the creation.
I used Marie from my shared studio in Copenhagen as a model here. So we jumped into our swimsuits and did a slightly illegal underwater photoshoot at the local swimming pool and a used the photos from that day as inspiration for these underwater pieces.
Working with water as an element feels very natural to me. I’ve always been drawn
to the sea (as many of my pictures may reveal). I grew up on the west coast of
Denmark, and as me and my siblings were children of parents who taught
swimming, the scent of chlorine was also a familiar presence in my home, and we
all became competitive swimmers too. So I’ve always felt as though an eternal tide runs through my veins, now intertwined with saltwater. I try to embrace the sea a couple of times a week, sometimes just for a cold dip, but when the energy is there,
I windsurf too.
