Birdwoman in blue and Birdwoman in green.
The first birdwoman I made was in blue and the original is a collage between glass, so it´s partly transparent. I am quite fond of the blue Birdwoman, but she just didn’t fit in with the other artworks on my gallery wall at the studio. So, in a moment of spontaneity, I decided to create a new and different collage right on top of one of the existing prints. I replaced all the blue hues with various green music covers, papers, and cartoons, and sew it together - adding to stitching for texture.
And yeah - It turned out pretty great. Fresh and vibrant. Originally, it was meant to just be 1 green mixed media piece here on my own wall, but one by one, my fellow studio mates started asking if they could buy a print version of this green Birdwoman. I kept saying no, as that wasn’t at all my plan for the piece, but now I´ve given it a lot of thought and decided to release a very limited exclusive handfull of the green version too.
I will not make her in any other color ! I made a gold version once and then there is the transparent original piece. The green mixed media piece is not for sale. I hope you like her - she will be made as giclee art print on museum-quality textured art paper just as the blue version on the following pictures.
